"18th Century Engraved Pewter Plate "
Engraved pewter plate - 18th centuryPlate with molded border. Finely engraved decoration of a mountainous landscape with a castle, a house under the sun, surrounded by palmettes resting on a sheep's head, all topped with a calise. The whole is reminiscent of a religious decoration? especially since the wing has two "Muslim" entrance door type decorations. The wing is dated "1769" in a branchy cartouche. See the photos of details. Plate of foreign origin because the hallmarks bear the mention "Bloktin". English pewter object. Hallmarks with the angel with scales and unidentifiable sword? Very good condition. Diameter 25 cm
