"Prisoner Figure, Kuba People, Drc"
Statue with a bust on a round base depicting a prisoner with his hands tied behind his back. The face is closed, the back is hunched, he appears resigned to his fate. The number of significant scarifications on his body and face must signify the importance of the character. These representations of prisoners are quite rare in the art of the BaKuba; Kuba people, Democratic Republic of Congo.
Blackened wood with a patina of use, some shocks.
