Sculpture from the early 1900s in Bronze signed Gemito Vincenzo (1852-1929) was one of the most famous Italian sculptors between the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries, of Neapolitan origins, famous for his works in bronze and terracotta, Gemito stood out for his realistic style and ability to capture the vitality of the subjects, often fishermen, street children, Neapolitan popular figures. Fonderie Chiurazzi Napoli were founded in Naples in 1870, by Gennaro Chiurazzi, they became famous for the quality of their artistic bronze castings, collaborating with the most famous sculptors of the time, including Vincenzo Gemito.
