Numa Marzocchi de Bellucci (1846–1930) was a Franco-Italian painter renowned for his Orientalist works and innovations in fresco painting. Trained at the Beaux-Arts in Paris in Cabanel's studio, he moved to Algiers in 1876, where he drew inspiration from the local culture. He developed a unique technique of fresco painting on canvas, which he exhibited successfully in France and Belgium. His major works include Port of Algiers and a fresco in the restaurant Le Train Bleu in Paris. Naturalized French in 1891, he ended his life in Jaunay-Clan. His frescoes, both mobile and marouflaged, demonstrate a desire to renew monumental art. Good general condition, some minor wear. Dimensions without frame: 44 / 39 cm
