“marine” Daisy Ring, 4.50ct Ceylon Sapphire, Unheated, Certified
"Marine" Marguerite Ring
In platinum and 18k white gold, centered with a significant and beautiful natural sapphire of oval cut, weighing approximately 4.5 carats. The sapphire is surrounded by a row of 12 round brilliant-cut diamonds, slightly graduated, with a total weight of approximately 2 carats.
French craftsmanship.
Circa 1950.
The sapphire is accompanied by a certificate from the Gem Paris laboratory, dated May 2025, confirming that the stone is natural, of Ceylon (Sri Lanka) origin, and has not undergone thermal enhancements or treatments (unheated).
Sapphire dimensions: approximately 12.2 x 10.1 x 4.5 mm.
Total diamond weight: approximately 2 carats.
Characteristics: Estimated color: G-H, estimated clarity: VS to SI.
Ring size: 50 (adjustable).
Weight: 7.9 g (platinum – 800/1000 and 18k – 750/1000 – hallmarks of the dog's head and eagle's head).
Condition: This ring is in very good condition. The prongs, both for the sapphire and the diamonds, have been carefully checked. The sapphire shows a few minor abrasions, consistent with the normal wear of a regularly worn stone, but there are no signs of shocks or damage. The color of the sapphire, a light blue typical of Ceylon stones, captivates with its subtle brilliance. It is exceptionally clean, with very few visible inclusions. A slight "feather" can be discreetly observed in one rounded corner of the oval. This subtle and non-surface-reaching detail emphasizes its natural origin without affecting the stone’s integrity. This sapphire stands out for its impressive size and cleanliness, rare qualities for a completely natural stone. Unlike many sapphires that are thermally treated to enhance their transparency and intensify their color, this one has remained in its original state. No treatment has been applied—this precious stone is as it was when extracted from the earth, retaining all its authentic beauty.
