"Mahogany and Gilt Bronze Games Table, Louis XVI Late 19th Century Signed Lampre" Mahogany and gilt bronze games table. The four-leaf top surrounded by a gilt bronze ingot mold, revealing a top lined with felt (original) and highlighted by bronze rods. It rests on a tapered base with asparagus-shaped fluting and finished with bronze sabots. The belt opens with two drawers. Gilt and chiseled bronze ornamentation. Stamped Lampre. Louis XVI style, late 19th century. Very good condition. Dimensions of the open top: 58.5 x 58.5 cm. A. LAMPRE, cabinetmaker specializing in the manufacture of games tables of all styles for which he held a patent. He participated in the Universal Exhibitions of 1878 and 1889 where he obtained several bronze medals. He practiced at 72, Faubourg Saint-Honoré from 1876 and 40, Rue Amelot from 1882 until the end of the century.
