Eugène Berthelon, born in Paris, was a student of Eugène Lavieille and Étienne-Prosper Berne-Bellecour. Painter of landscapes and seascapes, he painted in the Bièvre valley, in the forest of Fontainebleau, the banks of the Oise, in Normandy or in Brittany. He exhibited at the Salon from 1864 to 1880, and at the Salon des artistes français from 1881 to 1914. Active in Paris.
