Her initial idea was to develop the “Poupées de Bretagne” (Brittany Dolls), her first creation, inspired by Breton clothing and local know-how, into genuine collector's dolls.
The quick growing popularity of LE MINOR dolls led to the 1937 Universal Exhibition in Paris.
The regional dolls with their embroidered costumes began to travel all over France, and soon the world, with many famous buyers and collectors, starting with Colette, General Eisenhower, Caroline Kennedy and Prince Rainier of Monaco.
It was a success story since the factory was selling 300000 dolls per year at the end of the 1960.
The first doll, on the left, is in perfect condition.
She is a plastic doll made by Petitcollin.
She was dressed by the Cie "Le Minor" with a traditional costume from Brittany and the city of Penmarc'h at the beginning of the 1960's. It is located in the southwest of Finistère in Brittany.
Her costume has lovely embroideries and a beautiful purple apron.
She has her original paper tag with the name of the town she represents: Penmarc'h.

She was dressed by the Cie "Le Minor" with a traditional costume called "Bigoudène" at the beginning of the 1960's. The "Bigouden" land is located in the southwest of Finistère in Brittany.
Her headdress is impressively high. The textiles used to make the costume are of the highest quality.
She has her original paper tag with the name of the town she represents: Loctudy
