Object description :

"Pair Of All Biscuit Kewpies Made By Kestner"
Amusing pair of German twin dolls made by Kestner.
They have painted eyes and are in perfect condition. They are fully jointed.
The differences: one was born with painted socks and shoes (the painted socks are peeling off) and their Googlie eyes look in opposite directions, giving them a knowing look!
They've got an extensive home-made trousseau, so you can have fun changing their outfits, each one more delightful than the last! A very touching piece of work carried out by their little mother's inexperienced hands.
An old-fashioned trunk is used to store them and all their little clothes.
Their owner had named them “Ruth” and “Lili” after the little albums they came with.
They are marked “3/0” between the shoulder blades.
They date from 1912/15.
Dimensions: 6"
