Description of the work
The work depicts a group of people in a rural encampment, probably a nomadic community, next to two wooden living wagons, typical of caravans. The scene takes place in a clearing at the edge of a forest, under a large tree with autumn foliage. Some characters, mostly women and children, are engaged in everyday activities: conversing, moving around the wagons and horses. In the foreground, two horses - one white and one dark - slowly advance toward the viewer, while two others graze nearby.
The composition is balanced, with skillful distribution of natural light filtering through the branches and reflecting off the grass, the figures' bright clothes, and the water of a small stream in the foreground. Color is treated with warmth and softness, evoking a romantic, pastoral sensibility. The atmosphere is quiet but animated, conveying a sense of community and freedom.
