Cleaned by our restoration atelier, the panel is partly curved. The frame, from the period, is made of patinated and gilded plaster and has a leaf motif. It has some old missing parts.
Ferruccio Scattola was born in Venice in 1873 and died in Rome in 1850. He was a self-taught painter, he exhibited at various exhibitions in Venice as well as at the BIennials and Quadrennials in Rome.
His works can be found at the Gallerie d'arte moderna in Venice and Rome as well as at the Revoltella in Trieste.
