"Jules Sarlandie (1874-1936) 2 Limoges Enamel Vases C. 1910/1920. Fauré, Marty, Bonnaud"
2 new enamel on copper vases by Jules Sarlandie in Limoges around 1910/1920; - the first is a soliflore shape on a small, narrow heel and a slightly flared neck, and features a superb Art Nouveau floral decoration, I think rosehip flowers, pink and yellow with emerald green and yellow leaves, all on a bottle green background. The artist finally creates the stems and thorns in gold. Superb creation. Vase in perfect condition, with its original rings and brass. Signed and located in Limoges in the decor. Height: 15cm. Price of this vase alone: €390 - the second is also a soliflore shape with a bulbous base and a long, straight neck. It also features a superb Art Nouveau floral decoration. This time the artist creates bindweeds in bloom, in shades of pink, mauve and blue with green foliage, all on a straw yellow background, technique on a silver spangle. This vase is in good condition, but I note 2/3 small lacks on the top of the vase, but really tiny and especially not detracting from the decor; with its original brass rings. Height: 18.5 cm Price of this vase alone: 280 € Or 600 € for the 2 vases, your choice. I no longer present Jules Sarlandie one of the most famous Limoges enamelers of the period 1895/1930, especially the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. He will collaborate with great decorators and painters such as Beaumont, Gaude-Roza, René Crevel etc ... He will participate in many Parisian and provincial salons. He was part of the revival of Limousine enameling with Paul Bonnaud, Henriette and Alexandre Marty, Camille Fauré, Léon Jouhaud, Jeanne Soubourou. Today, his pieces can be found and admired in several museums, notably at the BAL in Limoges.
