Chinese lacquered and hand-painted cabinet – Early 20th century

Superb Chinese two-part cabinet in lacquered wood, dating from the early 20th century. This piece of furniture is distinguished by its refined hand-painted decoration, representing birds, flowers and branches in a palette of subtly nuanced gold and brown tones. The exterior doors are adorned with finely chiseled brass fittings, typical of Asian craftsmanship. The interior, lacquered red, features a contrasting decoration of black bamboo painted on the doors, adding a graphic elegance to the whole.This cabinet offers a beautiful storage space with two large compartments, two central drawers and a spacious bottom. It rests on an openwork base with slightly arched legs.
