Marie de Bonaparte's dog Tatoon, life-size bronze, lost wax Valsuani – Oscar NEMON (1906-1985)This life-size bronze with a superb green patina represents Tatoon, the dog from the line of the famous chow-chows of Sigmund Freud and Princess Marie Bonaparte. Tatoon was the only surviving puppy of Yofi, given to Freud by the Princess, and became one of the parents of Topsy, immortalized in the Princess's book.Crafted by Oscar Nemon, a renowned sculptor known for his portraits of Churchill, Thatcher and Freud, this work pays tribute to the friendship between Freud and Marie Bonaparte and their shared passion for chow-chows.
