Pair of bronze animal bookends on marble base, signed Milo and representing on the one hand, a rhinoceros and on the other hand, two hippopotamuses, one of which is almost completely submerged. Miguel Fernando López, known as Milo (born in Lisbon in 1955), is a post-war and contemporary Portuguese sculptor with an international reputation.
