"Seated Venus, Bronze Circa 1840"
Rare bronze bearing the mark of the founders Richard, Eck and Durand, allowing the object to be dated between 1839 and 1843. Beautiful medal patina. The short-lived association of the founder Louis Richard, the bronze molder Jean Eck and the chaser Pierre Durand allowed the edition of high-quality bronzes for the most renowned sculptors of the time (Pradier, Barye, etc.). This subject is inspired by the Seated Venus with a Quiver of Roses by Jean-Pierre Antoine Tassaert.
