Louis XIV Style Sideboard

Beautiful sideboard in rosewood veneer and gilded bronze. It opens with three drawers and four doors on the front. Peach Blossom marble top. Laurel tori pull handles, large central drawer with foliate post reserves. Mask of Hercules, shell, putti and oak branches. Drop handle with lictor's bundle. Front and sides with heart-shaped frames and rosettes in spandrels. Ingot mold bases. Large uprights with pilasters, Roman busts and acanthus falls. Lower crosspieces scalloped with gilded bronze fillets, foliate mascaron on the front. Rack and pinion lock. French polish. Manufactured in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine, circa 1880.
