Pair of gilt bronze candlesticks finely decorated with polychrome champlevé enamel with floral and geometric motifs in shades of blue, turquoise, red and black. Each element features rich neo-Byzantine style ornamentation, typical of high-quality productions from the second half of the 19th century. Each candlestick rests on a circular base with enamel decoration and stands on four discreet feet. The central structure is finely turned, enhanced with enameled bulbs and crowned with an ornate socket. The underside is signed: F. Barbedienne, Fondeur, an emblematic brand of Parisian excellence in art foundry. Period: Napoleon III, circa 1870 Signature: F. Barbedienne, Fondeur Dimensions: Height approx. 22.5 cm, base diameter approx. 12 cm Condition: Very good overall condition. Slight wear and small losses of gilding in places. The enamel is in very good condition.
