"At the Stables" Oil on canvas 19th, family scene, the father is going to put the collar on the gray horse in front of him while his son cuddles his dog, in the background, another gray looks into the distance while chewing its hay. Signed lower right, good condition Wood frame and gilded stucco to be reviewed 100 x 87 cm, stretcher 73 x 60 cm Louis-claude Malbranche (1790 - 1838) He was a student of Pierre Prévost (1764-1823), painter of panoramas, and Pierre Bergeret (1782-1863), painter of history and genre. He appeared at the Paris Salon from 1812 to 1838 and exhibited in Luxembourg in 1830. Inspired mainly by the Flemish and Dutch pictorial tradition of the 18th century, he specialized in autumn landscapes and stable scenes which would make his reputation. He received a gold medal at the Paris Salon in 1831. Exhibited in around ten French museums
