Born in Lausanne to French parents, Louis Trinquier pursued his career in France and was decorated knight, then officer of the Legion of Honor, in 1909 and 1921 respectively. Painter, illustrator and engraver, he produced numerous landscapes in watercolor. He enlivened his composition by representing a fisherman at the bottom left heading towards his boat.
