Louis XVI Period Eight-legged Sofa. Stamped.
Beautiful two-seater sofa resting on eight tapered and fluted legs. Ornamentation of moldings and ribbons running throughout the seat. Armrests with connecting dice topped with a square of rudentė fluting and an acanthus leaf crook. Lacquered and re-edged wood. Bears the Roussel stamp as a Merchant Mercier established in Faubourg Saint Antoine under the sign "Coupe d'Or". Upholsterer refurbished according to the rules of the art. Feather cushion on a horsehair background. Paris circa 1780
