Pair Of Large Louis XVI Period Incense Burners.

Pair of gilt bronze and white marble cassolettes in the form of antique amphorae resting on a triangular base and supported by an anthropomorphic Athenian base with Bacchic figures.
The twisted handles are highlighted with friezes of festooned pearls.
The removable lids with an ogee, surmounted by fruit-shaped handles encircled with vine leaves.

This pair of incense burner cassolettes has very finely chiseled bronzes and its original gilding, not cleaned.

Louis XVI period, last quarter of the 18th century.
