Large Pair Of Louis XVI Candelabras

A large pair of Louis XVI period three-light candelabras.

With a base in the typical Louis XVI style, it is distinguished by its upper section, which divides into two arms for three sockets.

The two opposing conical sockets are very finely beaded and chiseled with geometric motifs.

They are topped and supported by bobeches themselves chiseled with geometric friezes or stylized leaves.

They join the central socket by a curved arm encircled by a ring connecting stylized foliage, ending in a floral rosette and connected to the central shaft by a similar rosette.

The central candelabra, overlooking the other two, with identical chiseled motifs, has a vase-like shape that does not require a bobeche.

Its base features a stylized foliage motif, and the collar features a beaded and chiseled motif of fine leaves. It vertically continues the elegance of the circular shoulder in the shape of an antique vase with a foliate motif resting on a heart-shaped capital, and the conical shaft features a beaded ear of wheat motif in the fluting and encircled by a beautiful beaded garlands alternating with medallions.

The node features a scrolled garland motif and joins a concave terrace with a stylized foliage motif, then stepped seats, finished with a wide circular plinth.

The distinctive feature of this large pair of candelabra lies in its design, consisting of two distinct and possibly detachable parts at the collar, thus allowing the transition from a candlestick to a three-light candelabra. Original gilding
