"Pablo Picasso Ceramic Plate Madoura Edition Beach Scene "
Round glazed ceramic plate depicting a stylized beach scene with bathers and a diving board, in a refined composition in black on a white background. This piece is one of the editions produced at the Madoura workshop in Vallauris, based on the drawings of Pablo Picasso (1881–1973), to whom Suzanne and Georges Ramié opened the doors of their workshop in 1946. The work illustrates the freedom of line and the Mediterranean spirit dear to Picasso during his ceramic period, which he developed intensely in the 1950s. Marking on the reverse characteristic of the workshop: Édition Picasso et Madoura Plein Feu.
