Pierre Sojo

Pierre Sojo Venus with Guitarist oil on canvas 120x160cm Pierre Sojo was born in December 1990 in Pithiviers. He grew up surrounded by the works of his father Jean Anguera and those of his great-grandfather Pablo Gargallo. Very early on, he showed an interest in drawing, but his first painting lessons were not given to him until the age of 18, by Marc Chalmé, in Nantes. "At the time, learning classical painting didn't interest me, I wanted to be modern. Today, being modern no longer interests me, I want to be sincere." Since then, this young painter has taken the time to create a body of paintings with varied subjects, from mythology to genre scenes. He develops a universe of enigmatic characters who evolve in the light of the landscape as well as in the intimacy of interiors.
