Each drape is fully lined, offering a sumptuous drape and high-quality textile insulation.
The fabrics feature a refined, Indian-inspired printed pattern typical of the Orientalist taste of the Second Empire: exotic birds, lush flowers, and tropical foliage, all in a rich color palette blending deep burgundy, sea green, warm beige, golden yellow, and celadon blue.
The design features a profusion of plants evoking a dreamlike and idealized nature, populated by multicolored parrots, hummingbirds, and stylized blooms, which seem to have come straight out of 19th-century tropical bestiaries. Each bird is finely drawn, highlighting the quality of the weaving and the precision of the printing. The curtain, soft and dense, is adorned with an olive green fringe along the edges, perfectly matching the natural tones of the decor. Original tiebacks are included, reinforcing the cohesion of this ensemble.

The taste for so-called "Indienne" fabrics and exotic patterns became very popular during the Second Empire, amidst a fascination with the Orient and the colonies. These motifs, often printed with blocks or copperplates, decorated bourgeois homes and fashionable aristocratic villas. They are part of the decorative tradition of narrative textiles, close to the toiles de Jouy, but in a tropicalized version.
