"Norman Wedding Trunk"
Normandy casket or trunk from Rouen in beech. Polychrome painted decoration of a bird, flowers and foliage. Intended to contain the woman's precious effects, headdresses, ribbons, lace, jewelry. 19th century period. Note some traces of drips on the back and front (see photos).
