"Antique Framed Print Of The Battle Of Marengo"
Old print relating to the Napoleonic battle of Marengo, where General Désaix died in 1800. The battle of Marengo represents that period of action in which General Desaix was mortally wounded, and dying in the arms of Lebrun he said: "Go and tell the First Consul that I die with the regret of not having lived long enough to live in the memory of posterity." Bonaparte managed to revive the soldiers and spur them to the charge for the victory of June 14, 1800. This beautiful print deserves its beautiful old gilded wood frame.
