Mahogany Burl Sideboard, Restoration Period – Early 19th Century

This mahogany burl veneered sideboard opens at the waist with a large, slightly concave drawer fitted with an authentic lock with inlaid entry and key. This drawer is highlighted by a lemon tree fillet and a double molding. Below, the double door, fitted with a top and bottom lock with inlaid entry and a joint cover, is inlaid with ebony and lemon tree compass rose motifs. The interior has a shelf. The whole rests on a plinth with a groove and fillet ending in ball feet at the front. The top is topped with an old silver gray marble slab.
