Object description :

"1797 Caricature Of An Incroyable And A Revolutionary "
The satirical engraving "Ah, how funny he is! Hai! Tell me, does my spyglass scare you?" is a revolutionary engraving from 1797, just after the revolution, where we see a puny and frightened aristocrat Incroyable with his fleur-de-lis being threatened by a strong man with a cockade and a cutlass while a smiling barefoot child points them out. The spyglass means that he is going to investigate the poor Incroyable's Ancien Régime past.
