Good exemple of 18th century Ivory painting: The lid of this beautiful box is painted in miniature with a country party scene of a couple and their two children in 18th century clothing in a wooded landscape with a river and buildings in the background.
The woman is seated, her arm around her dog lying against her.
The edge of the box is decorated with blue nets and garlands of flowers.

Bright and fresh colors, varnish restored by us.
Excellent condition, late 18th century period circa 1790.
