Schneider, French Glass, Vase Series "marbled", Venetian Foot, 1922/24
Rare vase in the "Marbrés" series with a small, straight, open neck, with two hot-applied serrated handles in purple powder pink and yellow, lined with purple powder glass at the base. Bright yellow striated purple Venetian foot topped with an elongated orange ring. Signature on the foot Schneider preceded by the amphora. Period circa 1922/24 Height: 31.5 cm Neck diameter: 12.5 cm Our vase has the particularity of having its two original labels under the foot: - label "Au vase Étrusque", 11 place de la Madeleine- PARIS - the other, mentioning Schneider with the name of Mr. Damon, order of May 1922 with the N°2/2. This means that Mr. Damon ordered two "Marbrés" vases from the Schneider firm in May 1922 and that our vase is the second. Louis Damon became the owner of the shop "Au vase Étrusque" in Paris in 1887, at the age of 27. He had a decoration workshop where he created and produced his models for resale. In 1889, the Daum brothers entrusted him with the finishing of Berluze vases with long handles. He also distributed a range of glassware at Vallerysthal, Portieux, Baccarat, Schneider...
