The man wears a diadem with flowing ends. The sculptural work in the hair is extremely detailed and very dynamic. The facial features are extremely precise. This sculpture is inspired by the art of princely portraiture in glyptic for the Hellenistic period. Its particularly fine workmanship places this object in the early neoclassicism of the 18th century.
