He belonged to the second generation of the Norman School. In 1903, his first Impressionist paintings made him known. From 1904, he became friends with Robert-Antoine Pinchon and participated in the Fauvist movement. In 1910, he returned to Paris, met Apollinaire and founded the "Golden Section" with him and his friends before joining, for a short time, the Cubist movement. He settled in 1913 at the Bateau-Lavoir where he met Gris, Picabia, Max Jacob. Gradually, his paste thickened and became greasy. He masoned his paintings in a way. His favorite subjects: cathedrals and other monuments. He then moved to Gasny (near Giverny) to heal. He painted the region of Vernon, La Roche-Guyon, Les Andelys. Mr. Sporck became his patron. This helped him a lot at a time when he was gradually becoming paralyzed. Pierre Dumont died on April 9, 1936.
