"Imperial Tabriz Carpet – Signed Samadi, Circa 1970 – Atelier Du Shah"
Rare Tabriz carpet from the Imperial Workshop, signed Samadi, from northwest Iran (Tabriz), made around 1965-1970 during the Shah's reign. It is distinguished by its exceptional fineness (approx. 10,000 to 11,000 knots/dm²), a high-quality silky lambswool pile, and silk inlays on a silk foundation. Its golden yellow field reveals an original decoration of stylized foliage and scrolls framing a central medallion in the shape of a pearl gray mirror, adorned with stylized flowers, butterflies, birds, and caterpillars. Refined borders, including a main copper border with garlands of palmettes, and a terminal border with cartouches containing mystical poems by the great Persian poet Nezami Ganjavi, taken from the Khamsé. A unique piece combining technical virtuosity, symbolic richness, and rare chromatic harmony. Good general condition. Measurements: 302 x 198 cm
