Rare
Italian Louis XV chest of drawers in walnut, walnut briar and
centrally moved fillets with high leg measuring 90 x 116 x 58
cm.
This beautiful chest of drawers with 3 drawers moved
centrally and slightly rounded on the sides rests on legs, curved
almost like a “cabriole”, rather slender that are connected with
the apron with a wavy contour in a very elegant way on the forehead
and sides.
In the three drawers the decoration is solely made
up of the noble Ferrara root and the fillets, as well as a move of
great refinement and value, with imposing head wood at both ends of
the chest of drawers, a guarantee of elegant furniture and of great
value of materials and cabinetry.
Splendid example for the
refined conception of the Brescia imprint and for the execution; the
usual search for an approach to elegant Venetian forms leaves
unchanged the Lombard character of opulent creation with warm and
colored walnut briar.
The character is also underlined by the
marked tones of the handles and the absolutely original chiseled
bronze hardware as well as by the chew proportions which are kept
harmonious in the various curves of the sides and front.
As
previously said, the motif of the column rounding of the two front
corners is very fine.
