"Gold Pill Box, Early 19th Century"

Delicate little round pill box that opens in two parts. The top of the lid and the back of the base are decorated with a meander frieze. The edge of the lid is covered with a frieze of ova on an matte background, while a wave of striations runs along the edge of the base and the center of the lid.

Marked: 1st cock cockerel facing right, 1798-1809.
Marked: cock head with open beak facing left, 1798-1809.
Master silversmith: D&C in diamond and flower.
Weight: 40 g.
