Louis XVI chest of drawers stamped by Jean Demoulin in Dijon. Marquetry of amaranth rosewood and blond walnut with green-tinted sycamore fillets. 3 J.Demoulin JME stamps on 3 uprights with period advertising label to the Prince of Condé allowing the furniture to be dated to the decade 1780-1790 when Jean Demoulin, returning from Paris, settled in Burgundy with his two sons. Very good condition, no cabinetmaking restoration work. New and revarnished sabots. Period gray breccia marble. Note an old consolidated crack on the right side.
