Roger Godchaux (1878 – 1958), Lionceau assis, terracotta cast by Susse Frères.
Signed “Roger Godchaux”, bears the founder’s stamp and seal.
Ca. 1930
Seating lion cub was produced in both bronze and terracotta by Susse, like other creations.
Within Godchaux’s bestiary, the depiction of felines emerges as a recurrent theme. Alongside elephants, they were among the subjects he returned to most passionately.
