Box in the shape of Napoleon I's tomb - 19th centuryThis straw marquetry box represents Napoleon lying in his tomb. The edge of the box is decorated with the imperial eagle, the crowned "N" of Napoleon, a decoration of the island of Elba guarded by 2 hussars and his native Corsican village. Presence of an intermediate interlocking lid. The marquetry is in good condition, unfortunately the domed lid that covered the tomb is missing, Cf trace of the two hinges that articulated it. Presence of some wormholes. This box closed with an iron lock present. Original object!
