French Navy Commemorative Paddle 1836

Commemorative paddle in painted wood with the date 1836 on one side and the initials JCF on the other. The object is sound but has some knocks, wear and re-gluing. It is nevertheless a very elegant, unusual and decorative object dating from the 19th century. This type of object could be offered to those who were leaving the service. The exact typology of these objects remains to be confirmed.
