This pretty round box is made of brown tortoiseshell, with four chiseled yellow gold circles, the lid is decorated with an oval miniature representing a festive scene animated by several characters including a dancing couple.
The miniature is framed by a chiseled gold oval and protected by domed glass.

Without mark or hallmarks. Rim tested 14 carat gold.
Note: Tiny nibbles of the tortoiseshell on the side. Miniature a little sunned.
Very good condition, 18th century period, circa 1780.
