Around 1900, The Elegant Cavalier
How elegant this rider is, dressed in a dark jacket, a bowler hat, beautiful boots, trotting on a beautiful pie horse. It is a fashionable subject in the good society of this beginning of the century, where riding a horse was still part of the customs of this time. We can date the painting because there is, unfortunately erased for unknown reasons, a trace of the date 1906, and perhaps of a signature. The life of old objects sometimes escapes us, which is sometimes regrettable, sometimes leads to reverie. It is painted on a thin wooden panel, and framed in a good cane frame.
