Beautiful gilt bronze clock. It has a terminal in the center, containing the dial, on which sits a goddess representing trade and prosperity. She holds a horn of plenty in her left hand and a purse in her right hand. A boat is to her right containing the caduceus of Mercury, the whole mounted on a bas-relief representing a trading scene next to a boat led by Mercury leaning on the rudder. Original mercury gilding. Some wear of gilding is present on the flat parts, the whole presents very well. The bronze is very finely chiseled. In working order. Restoration period (1820-1830).
