Louis XVI Period Fireside Chair Stamped Jean-baptiste Boulard
Elegant fireside chair with medallion back stamped Jean-Baptiste Boulard, ordinary carpenter of the royal furniture repository. He made many seats for the royal castles including Versailles. Condition: The upholstery has been redone in traditional style. The wood retains some remnants of its original polychromy. The central reinforcement crosspiece of the back was previously removed but does not detract from the solidity of the whole. The seat is very stable and can be used regularly.
