"19th Century Checkered Canvas Trunk"
Rare antique travel trunk attributed to the workshop of Alexandre Velay, a trunk maker active at the end of the 19th century. This model is distinguished by its brown and black checkered canvas, in a style close to that of the great houses like Louis Vuitton or Goyard. Wooden structure reinforced with metal strips and riveted wooden slats, brass corners, side handles and original locks. The trunk is monogrammed with the initials "PC" on the side face, typical of the personalized elegance of the great travelers of the time. A piece of character, ideal for decoration as a coffee table or chic storage, but also very interesting for collectors of antique French luggage.
