Camille Roche grew up in a family environment conducive to an artistic vocation.
Very early on, he revealed a precocious talent for drawing and painting; he exhibited his first paintings in 1905 at the Salon d'Automne.
In 1913, still young, he received his first commissions for decorations.
During the 1930s, he collaborated with his brother Serge Roche, one of the most prominent decorators of this period.
Camille Roche acquired a particular reputation for his drawings of nudes, landscapes, as well as animals.
During his lifetime, several solo exhibitions were dedicated to him.
This drawing comes from the sale of his studio on October 2, 2024 at Drouot.
The drawing bears on the back, the stamp of the sale, certifying its authenticity.
