Large group in white Carrara marble representing a lion fighting a snake. This is a famous subject by the sculptor Antoine Louis Barye (1796-1875), whose original 1832 plaster model is preserved at the Louvre Museum. The bronze copy is on display at the Tuileries. A very high-quality sculpture in perfect condition. 19th century.
