Louis Stanislas Faivre-Duffer, born April 17, 1818 in Nancy and died February 4, 1897 in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, was a French painter. Louis Stanislas Faivre-Duffer studied at the National School of Fine Arts in Lyon from 1830 to 1836 and was taught by Victor Orsel and Hippolyte Flandrin. He traveled to Rome. His Salon debut was at the Lyon Salon in 1836 where he exhibited The Prodigal Son. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1847 and was present at the Universal Exhibition of 1855. He obtained the third class medal in 1851 then a medal recall in 1861. His work was highly recognized at the Château d'Anet where he worked on decorative paintings from 1873.
