Max Birrer, 1905-1937, was a young, talented artist of Swiss origin who arrived in Collioure in 1926, the date of the creation of this painting, located Collioure I March 1926 on the back of the frame. Very interesting work, both cubist and fauve, representing the road to Port Vendres and the bell tower of the Augustinian convent.
